    Bangladesh National Health Accounts - Phase 3

     
    Project ID: HA-019 Status: Completed

    IHP provided technical support to GTZ and the Ministry of Health in Bangladesh, to design and implement the third phase of Bangladesh National Health Accounts (BNHA). The work included assessment of the work and data requirements, design of terms of reference of contractors, and technical support and supervision of the project work.

    Under this third phase of NHA, Bangladesh compiled an updated set of NHA estimates to cover the period 1997-2007,with a linked set of estimates of HIV/AIDS expenditures. Specific components of the project included a special survey of people living with HIV/AIDS, a national survey of inpatient morbidity, and an outpatient morbidity survey. Work was also done to lay the ground work for a set of disease accounts profilng expenditures by disease. Development of Bangladesh's health accounts during the previous two phases were supported and assisted by IHP Fellows, Dr Rannan-Eliya and Dr Somanathan.
