Regular tracking and reporting of health expenditure flows is vital to understand and monitor Sri Lanka’s health system. IHP team has been conducting a regular review of health expenditures in Sri Lanka as input into the Sri Lanka Health Accounts (SLHA). The SLHA estimates provide a regular overview of health spending in the country, including how much the country spends on healthcare, on what this is spent and by whom. The SLHA provide valuable information for policymaking at the national and provincial levels, and help policymakers have a better understanding of the contribution that different sources make in the health sector.
