The Linked Immunization Action Network (Linked) is a collaborative learning network for middle-income countries that is supported by Gavi, the Vaccine Alliance.

Linked is a component of Gavi’s strategic approach to engaging with middle-income countries (MICs) with the goal of preventing and mitigating backsliding in vaccine coverage, driving the sustainable introduction of key missing vaccines, and increasing vaccine equity. The Linked Network works with MICs to share and explore solutions and best practices through peer-to-peer learning.

The network is facilitated and managed by Results for Development (R4D) with partners who support regional engagement and lead focused workstreams. Current partners include Curatio International Foundation, the regional partner for Europe-Central Asia and the lead on new vaccine introduction, and the Health Policy (IHP), the regional partners for the South Asia-pacific region and the lead on electronic immunisation registries (EIR).

Linked designs and employs highly participatory and action-oriented collaborative learning approaches that bring together country practitioners, technical experts, and immunisation partners from former Gavi and select never Gavi MICs to identify common immunisation programme challenges and the transformative strategies that will lead to greater resilience, equity, and sustainability.

This approach allows countries to access practical “how-to” knowledge from peers by bringing together country practitioners who face common challenges to systematically share and adapt knowledge to tackle complex issues. In doing so, countries go beyond static information-sharing between peers and are able to set the agenda for future discussions. Engagement approaches include in-person and virtual learning exchanges, study tours, direct country-to-country linkages, and collaborative problem-solving sessions.
