Upul is a qualified dentist with experience in both private and government health sectors in Sri Lanka for more than five years. He holds a Bachelor's degree in Dental Surgery from University of Peradeniya and a MSc in Public Health from the University College London (UCL). His research interests include social inequalities of health, social determinants of health and evidence-based health promotion. He is currently working on the Sri Lanka Health and Ageing Survey- SLHAS.
