The Institute for Health Policy (IHP) is a centre of excellence in heath policy research, working both in Sri Lanka and internationally. We provide a creative and challenging professional environment with opportunities for advancement for individuals interested in research that makes a difference. In Sri Lanka, we work closely with the Ministry of Health, other ministries, and development partners. Internationally, we work with health ministries, international agencies such as WHO, World Bank and ADB, and leading universities such as Harvard University. Our work spans health systems, health economics, social protection, and equity, and in the past year much of our work has focused on the national and global challenge of COVID-19. We are looking for motivated and talented individuals with an interest in our core areas of work. We are looking particularly for established or potential researchers with strong qualitative and/or strong analytical skills.
We invite applications for the following vacancy:
Research Assistants/Research Officers (Ref: IHP/HR/2102)
Should have a first class/upper-second class degree in economics, statistics, or related fields, and are expected to support senior staff in data collection and quantitative analysis. Familiarity with software such as Stata/R is an added advantage, but not essential. Exceptional candidates with degrees in medicine or other health sciences interested in research are welcome to apply.
We provide a flexible work environment and a competitive package of remuneration and benefits, including medical and life insurance, and support for career training. Owing to the pandemic, most IHP staff work remotely, and this will likely continue through 2021. If you are interested in pursuing post-graduate studies and a career in areas we work in, we provide unique opportunities for professional development, and for international collaboration. We are committed to promoting equality of opportunity, and we do not discriminate on the basis of ethnicity, gender or age.
Interested applicants should email their CVs with a cover letter highlighting specific areas of experience to [email protected] by 13th June 2021, quoting the applicable reference number. The call is also posted at employment.html
