Asia Network for Capacity Building in Health Systems Strengthening (ANHSS) |
|
Project ID: NW-004 |
Status: Active |
The ANHSS was established by nine Asia-Pacific institutions, supported by the World Bank Institute (WBI) of the World Bank to support capacity building in health systems in Asia-Pacific countries. The Network is motivated by a common desire to establish a platform where knowledge and lessons for health systems strengthening, such as financing health care, organizing service delivery, regulating providers, hospital organization, working with private providers, governance, etc., can be disseminated and shared in a timely manner. Policy makers in the region often need to have access to new ways of thinking and acquire new technical tools to help them address long-term challenges and make strategic decisions for reform. One of the World Banks pillars for assistance is to act as a knowledge broker for the region and support the growing global role of the regional institutions the ANHSS provides a regional platform and channel to share this World Bank knowledge and experience. IHP is happy to be one of the nine founding member institutions, all of which have a strong technical background and expertise to contribute to the Networks common goal - building knowledge capacity in health systems strengthening in the region. Within ANHSS, IHP has been designated to lead the Health Equity cluster, which will manage the ANHSS offerings in the area of health equity. |
